Telescopic driveway posts are a popular type of driveway security post. These bollards can be lowered into the ground manually, allowing you to protect your driveway, also preventing any vehicular access if required, while allowing access to vehicles when needed.

When not in use, the post slides back down into the ground, with no need to store it in another location. There are choices for size, colour and locking mechanisms. However, we recommend the push button locking type because it is clean and quick, whatever the weather conditions, or time of night. So, no fiddling about with a padlock and key to secure in the upright position.

Are security bollards any good?

A security bollard will protect your car - just ask your car dealer or your insurance company. Telescopic and fixed steel bollards have been used for many years. They have proven to be a very effective long term security solution to protect vehicles from being stolen.

How do telescopic security posts work?

Telescopic security posts are supplied with a steel ground spigot, or sleeve, along with an internal sliding post, the spigot sleeve is normally about 200 – 300 mm longer than the internal post. The sleeve is fitted into the ground with the top plate being level with the driveway. This depth of the sleeve is gripped in the ground and concreted in, which is what gives the telescopic parking post its strength.

The posts are lifted and easily locked by simply pressing the lock button, leaving you free to then lock the post into position. Although, there are various types of locking mechanisms, depending on the chosen model, from padlocks to integral locks, push button locks are strongly recommended. To lower the posts, they are simply unlocked and lowered into the ground resulting in a flush to the ground finish. These locks are drill and pick resistant.

Do driveway security posts work?

Yes, if you use them correctly. Security posts can be fit in to any kind of paving/driveway. Once installed and activated security bollards can protect your car, van, trailer or caravan from being stolen. They will give you peace of mind that your vehicle will still be there in the morning.
